3 Ways to Mentally Prepare for Your Wedding Day
Are your planning a wedding, or going to be planning a wedding soon? I am a North Carolina wedding photographer and after shooting weddings for 2.5 years, here are some tips I have for brides to mentally prepare for their wedding day!
Remember your priorities. And maybe spend some time journaling about them! Your wedding isn’t about the little details. It’s not about getting perfectly posed Pinterest wedding photos either (and yes I’m saying this as a wedding photographer!) Things probably won't go perfectly, and that is OKAY. Everything is still going to turn out even better than you imagined, even if it doesn’t quite go the way you planned. I always remind my wedding clients that the most important thing is keeping Jesus at the center of your day and being truly joyful and excited about marrying the person that you love!
Plan to eat breakfast the morning of your wedding. Maybe this is just because I’m a breakfast girlie, but I seriously think you should eat breakfast the morning of your wedding!! Not eating breakfast can give you brain fog and anxiety, which are quite literally the last things you want on your wedding day.
Take care of your health while wedding planning! I know that it is easy to get wrapped up in the stress of everything, but you need to take care of your mental and physical health leading up to the wedding! Prioritize eating multiple healthy meals per day, drinking water, and getting sunshine so that you can feel like your best self on your wedding day.
If you are getting married soon, I WANT to shoot your wedding— I am available in Raleigh, NC and beyond and I still have 2024 & 2025 dates available— so what are you waiting for!?
